Dr Roger Sexton

Roger was appointed part-time Medical Director of Doctors' Health SA in 2010. He has been a rural procedural GP for over 35 years. Roger is a past member of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (2010-2013) and former board director NPS MedicineWise, and he was the last Presiding Member of the Medical Board of SA in 2010.
He is currently working as a rural GP locum, medical consultant in executive health and conducts the statewide Local Government Association skin screening program.
He is a board director of the national medical indemnity provider MIGA, Chair of its Clinical Risk Committee and member of its Claims Committee. He is a board director of Doctors’ Health Services Pty Ltd (national board) and recently appointed to the new Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network.
He has a long-standing interest in doctors’ health and medical education, having played a major role in establishing both the rural doctors’ Dr DOC program in early 1999 and the Doctors’ Health SA Program in 2010 and the Doctors' Health NT program in 2016.
He completed his MBA at the University of Adelaide in 2015 and is committed to life-long education.
Roger's unique experience and roles in rural clinical medicine, education, medical indemnity and regulation has been of value to the program.
Kathryn commenced working part-time with DHSA in 2018. She is responsible for the business finances and the smooth running of the After Hours Assessment GP Clinic. Kathryn has over 15 years medical clinic experience, with an emphasis on quality continuous improvement and business processes. Kiara commenced part-time with DHSA in 2016, re-connecting with the doctors’ health program having worked with Medical Director, Dr Sexton, on the original Dr Doc program in 2000 – 2004, at Rural Doctors Workforce Agency. She has worked in the health and medical sector for over 28 years in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
She believes that it is vital to look after the very people that look after the health of our communities. She brings extensive experience in establishing rural health services and mental health services; stakeholder engagement and relationship management; strategic communications, marketing, program and administration management. Frances has worked within the health industry for the past 25 years in both General and specialist practices. She joined Doctors’ Health SA when the clinic initially opened in 2012.
