This workshop will be targeted to experienced doctors who:
- Currently see doctors/medical students as patients, or
- Wish to explore seeing doctor-patients into the future, or
- Have an interest in doctors’ health
It will provide an opportunity to network with colleagues who see doctor-patients, as well receive support and resources from the Doctors' Health SA team.
A number of experts will present the training and it is hosted by Doctors' Health SA's Medical Director, Dr Roger Sexton.
Learning Outcomes include:
- Improved understanding of contributors to doctors’ ill health
- Greater awareness of hazards of modern junior doctor workplaces
- Overview of common mental health presentations in students and doctors
- Understanding the contributors to the unsatisfactory / difficult doctor-doctor consultation.
- Knowledge of how to assess the doctor with early cognitive decline
- Awareness of medicolegal aspects of treating doctors and notification
- Understanding of a useful framework for identifying the unsustainable doctor
- Gaining ideas on how doctors stay well
