Doctors' Health SA, AMA (NT), NT PHN, RACGP (SA/NT) and NTGPE are working together to establish a doctors’ health program across the Northern Territory. It is an independent and profession-controlled program dedicated to improving the health of doctors and medical students for the good of the community.
Each organization is represented on the Doctors’ Health NT Advisory Committee, providing input into the establishment of the program which has been funded by the Medical Board of Australia and a contribution from the NT PHN.
Dr Roger Sexton, Medical Director, Doctors’ Health SA is visiting Darwin and Alice Springs on the 2nd and 3rd of March, to deliver the Doctors for Doctors workshop as part of launching the program and to seek feedback directly from local doctors and stakeholders, to steer the course of the program.
All doctors are encouraged to come along and find out more about Doctors’ Health NT, as well as gain an understanding on how to maintain their own health and assist unwell colleagues. Importantly it is a great opportunity to be a part of the development of this exciting program and share ideas and strategies for maintaining wellbeing and healthy workplaces in the busy medical professional environment.
This free event offers the opportunity to acquire RACGP 40 Category 1 points and 5 MIGA Risk Management points, with ACRRM points applied for. The NT PHN are managing the registrations for Darwin and Alice Springs, and kindly donating their meeting venues to host the events. All registrations can be completed via this link http://www.ntphn.org.au/node/2293 and further information about the program can be found on the Doctors’ Health NT website.
